March has been a very exciting month at Jungle Aid!
Visits to Bang Saphan, Pong Luek and Bangkhloi
In March, Jungle Aid volunteers travelled to Bang Saphan to distribute resources and conduct medical check ups. We treated 13 patients happily with no serious illnesses. We also delivered fresh chicken, pork and eggs, along with canned fish, mung beans and cooking oil. Additionally, we also have 450 kilograms of rice delivered each month from a local supplier. It was also great to see the children again, and very fun conducting health promotion activities on hand washing and teeth brushing.
Volunteers also travelled to Pongluek and Bagkhloi, villages deep in Kaeng Krachan national park. Here, we conducted health promotions on teeth brushing, washing our hands, and also on getting rid of head lice. The medical team were also busy conducting medical check ups at the site, but thankfully there were no serious illnesses, just colds, coughs and aches from work. We were also really able to appreciate the natural beauty of Kaeng Krachan – so many butterflies, beautiful streams, and birds to admire.

Other updates and fundraisers
We are incredibly proud to support and sponsor the education of 111 students across the villages we work with, all thanks to a generous private sponsor who has donated 1.4 million baht! We are incredibly grateful for this support towards educational sponsorships this year, but also to our volunteers in conducting interviews, reviewing transcript and ensuring the scholarship funds reach those most in need.
Hin, a student at Hua Hin International School, will attempt to summit Helvellyn from Patterdale, Cumbria, this July (on his 10th birthday)! He aims to raise as much money as he can for Jungle Aid and would welcome any form of support and donations. At the summit, Hin will celebrate his birthday and accomplishment with a cake (but unlikely to have any candles)! If you would like to donate or want to know more, please click the link here!
We are also actively looking for volunteers with medical backgrounds to support our medical trips – whether your background is in nursing, as a doctor, or in other medical services, please do reach out if you are interested in volunteering or know of anyone in Hua Hin who may be keen to volunteer with us.
There were some small issues sending out the March newsletter last month – please click here to head to the blog post on what Jungle Aid got up to last month!
Once again, thank you for all of your support, whether in donations or as a volunteer. It is all essential to the work we do at Jungle Aid, and every cent goes into the programs and support we provide.
