On a gorgeous sunny morning in Hua Hin our huge team of volunteers met ready for a trip to one of our remote villages. On the way we were able to stop and check the Home For Students and met some our children that are supported by our amazing sponsors. We met Nong Dee who is as cheeky and full of life and To To who is still requiring intense medical support for Thalassaemia.

Once we had checked the students we went on to the village Pala u noi where we were able to see approximately 30 children and families that needed to be seen by our medical team.

We also completed an assessment on the village highlighting the needs and current situation with the land issues. The water tanks that had been delivered several months ago need extra support to install them ready for when the rain starts. Our volunteer team will undertake this.

One other exciting project that will be managed by our volunteers is a health promotion initiative. We will work closely with the local shop where Mali sweetened milk is currently sold. It is the only milk available for the parents to buy their children. We hope to now discuss options of offering subsidised UHT milk that does not rot the children’s teeth causing tooth decay and abscesses.

With a large team that now regularly attends the monthly trips we are able to offer more support. We will be able to start visiting 2 villages each month commencing 28th June.
