Visit to Pongluek and Bangkhloi

Towards the end of March, Jungle Aid had a productive weekend in the jungle in Pongluek and Bangkhloi. It was wonderful to see some of our long-term projects thriving, for example our fish pond with the fingerlings donated and released a few months ago now growing well. Alongside this, our focus on this visit remained on health and education. We ran hygiene workshops for the children and our medical team provided treatment to 36 patients throughout the day. We also gave out donations to the children, who absolutely loved the stuffed animal keychains that were donated. The joy they brought was a lovely reminder that small gestures can make a big impact.

Visit to Bang Saphan

Early in March, 13 Jungle Aid volunteers spent a wonderful day with the Bang Saphan schoolchildren and their community. We had 2 doctors and 1 nurse with us, who treated 20 patients and distributed birth control. Thankfully, there were no serious issues and we were able to treat symptoms and reinforce the care we already provide. In addition to this, we also paid the rent and repaired the corrugated tin roof for the community center. Before leaving, we donated 15 bags of clothing, along with milk, cookies, toothbrushes, toothpaste and plushy keychains. We were also able to bring fresh chicken, pork, eggs, canned fish, mung beans, cooking oil, instant noodles and laundry detergents. It was a truly wonderful day and wouldn’t be possible without the support of our volunteers and donors.

Updates from Pala U

Thanks to the generous donations given to Jungle Aid, we have been able to secure 12 weeks of rice for the Naresuan Pala U Border Patrol School. Jungle Aid will be providing 1,200 kg of rice to provide lunches for their 200 students.

Call for donations

A small piece of technology can change a life. We’re looking for a donated tablet to support a hardworking student from our Bang Saphan community. After her education was disrupted during COVID, she fought her way back and is now thriving at high school—on track to become the first in her family to graduate. Despite excellent grades, she’s falling behind on device-based assignments because she leaves home at 5 a.m. and can’t access school computers.

If you have a tablet to donate or would like to contribute towards one, please reach out. Your support could truly change her future.
