A new year and two exciting visits to Bang Saphan, and Pongluek and Bangkhloi! The first few visits of the year are always so much fun, with many Christmas and New Years gifts to give out to the children at the villages!

Bang Saphan Visit

Earlier this month, Jungle Aid had our first visit of the year to Bang Saphan and their school children’s center. It was a lot of fun and all of the children received a personalised gift made by the students at the BECC. In addition to this, they received a whole host of other fun items, including cupcakes and plushies. The medical team here treated 23 patients and distributed birth control to the women in the community. We also delivered fresh pork, chicken, eggs, mung beans, canned fish, noodles and laundry detergent.

A huge thank you to our volunteers, and the students and parents at the BECC for the lovely gifts and making this happen. We are always so grateful to the Hua Hin community for their support and kindness.

Pongluek and Bangkhloi

Last weekend also marked our first trip of the year to Pongluek and Bangkhloi. Similar to our first trip to Bang Saphan, this was very special as we were able to bring New Years gifts prepared and sponsored by the students at Hua Hin International School (HHIS) for the village kids. We came prepared with around 100 gifts, but to no surprise, about 145 kids showed up – a happy challenge we face almost every year. To make sure everyone got gifts, we split up the 100 gift boxes and added 100 adorable plush keychains from a generous donor turning them into 145 gift sets!

The medical team also treated 44 patients, while the rest of the team played with the children outside, and ran health promotion activities. We ran five sessions covering handwashing, dental care, and mosquito-borne disease prevention.

It was a long and tiring day for our volunteers, but everyone walked away smiling – a wonderful start to the year!

Donation from CAF America

A massive thank you as well to CAF America for their donation of THB141,772! We have been verified by CAF America since 2021, and each year we are very fortunate that companies and organisations from around the world can see what we do, and can donate knowing we have been thoroughly vetted.

Call for volunteers

We are also actively looking for volunteers with medical backgrounds to support our medical trips – whether your background is in nursing, as a doctor, or in other medical services, please do reach out if you are interested in volunteering or know of anyone in Hua Hin who may be keen to volunteer with us.
