In May, we visited two villages closer to Hua Hin, Pala U Noi and Thai Village, where we were supported by the Lions Club.

Visit to Pala U Noi
Our first stop on the way to Pala U Noi was to a childrens daycare center which supports 46 children. A private donor sponsores some water color paint sets, colouring pencils, crayons, felt-tip pens and other crafts supplies which were donated to the daycare! The team then travelled to Pala U Noi in the beginning of the month to set up our medical clinic, where we treated 36 patients! The team also provided donations of clothing, oil, milk, rice, and hygiene essentials like soap, toothpaste, and toothbrushes. The children were also given handknitted and sewed bags made by the Knit and Natter group in Hua Hin! Two of our volunteers also led health promotion with the children on handwashing, teethbrushing, and lice-care as well, supported by two of the students we have been sponsoring through university! They were super!

Visit to the Thai Village
Volunteers travelled to Thai Village, a short distance from Pala U Noi. Here, the medical team treated 30 patients. Jungle Aid also supplied 2 bags of groceries from our sponsors. Our volunteers also gave health promotion to the children in the village focusing on teeth brushing, hand washing, and lice care. Following this, we handed supplied out to the children of daily essentials like soap, milk, snacks, toothbrush and toothpaste. We were also joined by volunteers from the Lions Club who were super helpful in giving out donations and helping with the health promotion in Thai. A very productive day out!

Additional Updates
This Songkran, villagers from the Pala U village participated in the annual Anti-Narcotic Sport Event – Jungle Aid supported their lunch and drink for the athletes and the women’s volleyball team won the first prize and the men’s football team won third prize!

Jungle Aid is also actively looking for volunteers with medical backgrounds to support us on our trips! Do get in touch if you would like to join us! We are also looking for donated bookshelves. If you have any to donate, please do get in touch!
