Great trip to Bang Saphan on Saturday, June 24, 2019. The team started out early from Hua Hin in two trucks. In one truck loaded with medicine, food, a great nurse and two wonderful translators. The other, donations of various items and a large donation including new school shoes.
As we continue to support a group of children and their carer, Ms. Lagee. We delivered 300kgs of rice, 25kgs of soy, pork, chicken, eggs and cleaning materials. The team also brought a donated table and large quantity of new school shoes. It was the second batch of school shoes so now all of the kids in the shelter have new shoes and can walk to school proud.
As always, the kind people around Hua Hin have donated were also full of non-school shoes. Really nice, barely used shoes even in toddler sizes.
Ms. Lagee has kindly asked if there was any way we could supply them with raincoats. It is 1.2 kms from the shelter to the school and when it rains, it pours.
Quickly after the team returned to Hua Hin, a request for support was published on our Facebook page and the call was swiftly answered by Social Business of Camp Palapon with a donation of 100 raincoats. These were swiftly sent by Kerry Express to the shelter.
All the hard work of our volunteers is so worthwhile when you see these kids happily jumping and dancing in their colorful and sporty new shoes.
